Is Google Calendar Around the Courner?

The moment so many have us have been waiting for may be just around the corner. There are distinct signs that a Google Calendar is about to launch including some convincing screenshots that include reference to ‘Google CL2 – A calendar for you and the world.’

So far it is just a couple screenshots (here and here)and some links that redirect to a CL2 login page. The login page will only return an error but it is some concrete evidence that something is afoot.

My excitement has been crushed by such rumours before but I hope this time it is for real. iCal support please! Mobile version please! TODO list please! Better contact list please! Soon please!

Gmail with Google Talk!

Google has just announced that Google Talk will soon be available right from your Gmail account. This is exciting news as it will significantly improve the convenience of keeping in touch with your contsacts as well as making those conversations searchable.

Searching through past conversations is a very valuable feature if you exchange ideas over IM as much as I do. And fortunately, there will be the ability to chat ‘off the record’ for those conversations that you don’t want to be searchable in the future.

Thanks Google! Now, when will you integrate a Google Calendar and allow us to stop trying out every flash-in-the-pan web 2.0 calendar company that comes along?
