  • Photoshop Tutorials – PSDTUTS – This site has a number of very good photoshop tutorials. A couple examples are how to make a shiny pencil and how to make a glass of beer. It's worth spending some time here going through tutorials to improve ps chops. There is a 'plus' membership for some premium content. Unfortunately the membership fee is quite expensive.

  • Tweetake – Tweetake is a useful site for Twitter users. It allows you to back up certain kinds or all of your Twitter data including your tweets, your followers, your friends and your favorites. Considering Twitter has been known to lose people's followers this could prove to be a very useful service.

One Month In: iPhone Gripes

Its been about one month since I bought my iPhone and here are my current gripes.

- camera sucks; maybe I’m too used to image stabilization on my digital camera
- battery sucks; charge daily
- no voice dialing; how can any phone with bluetooth headset support not have this??
- when updating apps, their icons get moved to a new location; annoying
- still no copy/paste; wtf?
- no audioscrobbler app; makes me want to jailbreak
- Google iPhone Apps are still not available in Canada

Also, I can’t use the car charger/fm transmitter that I used with my iPod video and my iPod Touch; is this Apple screwing us over to get more money via their ‘approved for iPhone’ accessories or is it a legitimate hardware issue?

Despite these gripes I’m still quite happy with the device. I’m able to carry one less device when I’m out and about, which is a real plus.

What the Whitehouse Really Needs: Less Bush, More Vegetables

Roger Doiron, founder of Kitchen Gardens International (an organization that promotes kitchen gardening and home-cooking) has started a great new campaign to have a vegetable garden planted on the grounds of the Whitehouse. Apparently several past presidents have planted gardens there, especially in hard times, which the US is certainly facing currently.

They have a petition that you can sign to support this campaign. You can find it at EatTheView.org

Below is my small part; maybe I should convert the whole lawn…
